What is it about?

• XSMatter is supporting a social development NGO, Light For Children, in its cause to seek welfare for the needy and disadvantage children in society, and its focus on community and humanitarian services. We are presently focusing on humanitarian efforts in Ghana, Africa. You can view their site here

Our Adopt-A-Child Project

• Under LightForChildren's projects, they hope to raise funds to support as many children in Ghana as possible. The donations will cover the child's following expenses:-
  • ART per month: USD5

Nutrition supplement per month: USD3

Healthcare per month: USD5

School costs per month: USD32

Supply of 2 sets of School Uniform, 1 set of footwear and stationary : USD3

Total/month : USD48

Total/year : USD576 or approximately SGD1000

• XSMatter is hoping to raise funds to adopt 1 child and with that LightForChildren will provide us with monthly reports pertaining to the specific child that is being adopted. Communication channels to write to and receive letters from the child will also be made possible. In addition to all that, anyone who wishes to go down to Ghana to visit the child will also be allowed.
• On the part of XSMatter, we will receive the updates and publish them on our site. We will also build a specific section of the site for communication between donors and also with LightForChildren.
• If you're interested in donating, please contact Ridzuan at ridzuan.ashim{at}xsmatter.com and include your name, contact and amount you wish to donate. Questions are more than welcome. In fact, the chairman of LightForChildren, Sebastian Lindstrom, and Ridzuan will probably meet on a weekly basis until End June 07. So if you'd like to join us for coffee and help out in any other way, please contact Ridzuan too!

Go-To-Ghana Project

• We're also collaborating with Light For Children to send a team of 10 to Ghana sometime in mid May for a period of about 2 months. At this point, we're looking for both interested individuals and sponsors who wish to sponsor the team. More details will come by the 25th February 2007.
