Are XSMatter and LightForChildren registered organisations?

XSMatter right now is a non-registered organisation. It will actually be registred as a Pte. Ltd. organisation with services including publication and event management. It will have a focus on the sustainable development agenda and aims to support several social development causes. Light For Children is one such organisation/cause it is supporting.

Light For Children is a Non-Government Organisation set up since 2005. More details about them can be viewed at http://www.lightforchildren.com.

Are you all taking a cut of the donations?

 NO. All donations, 100%, will be going to Light For Children .

Do you have volunteers?

Well, Light For Children has volunteers and they also accept volunteers to help out over in Ghana. You can either sign up with them, or express you interest over at this page.

XSMatter right now has no volunteer positions but if you're keen to find out more about XSMatter and what we're trying to do, you can contact Ridzuan at ridzuan.ashim{at}xsmatter.com

How much is the trip to Ghana?

Right now, we're expecting the living expenses for about 2 months to be around SGD800. Once Sebastian and Ridzuan meets up for more coffee sessions to discuss a better estimate, this wiki will be updated.

Do we have to pay for flight costs?

You probably will. How much? We don't know yet. When more details are confirmed about the travel arrangements, we'll update here. But as to what is going to happen during the trip to Ghana, it'll be roughly what's covered here.

How are you accepting donations?

You can go to HERE to fill up a form. Once we process it, we'll let you know how to make your donation.

For overseas donations, we'll be setting up a paypal within the next 2 days and you can donate via there too. Once, it's up, local donors can also use choose to donate via paypal.
